Meet Amelia

Hi! I’m Amelia. I have been studying and writing fiction for young readers for over fifteen years. As a developmental editor, I analyze manuscripts from a “bird’s-eye view” and focus on big-picture elements, like plot, tone, conflict, point of view, theme, characters, and setting. Though I specialize in developmental editing, I also provide line and copy editing services on a limited basis.

Throughout the years, I have worked with children and teens in the public library, school, and religious settings, where I have been privileged to lead story times, facilitate book clubs, and mentor teen writers. Now, as a freelance editor, I work remotely from the Blue Ridge Mountains of my Virginia home, where I enjoy watching the birds from my office window.
